'mark beesley,
wooaahwoah
he came from forest green,
to join a PROPER team,
mark beesley,
wooaahwoah
mark beesley!'
pretty routine win for the U's; wrexham huffed and puffed in the first 15 minutes but didn't really threaten, once beesley put the home side in front it seemed certain that we would get back to winning ways after 2 draws and a defeat. it was a good advert for conference football in a week in which the premiership has seemed even more out of touch than ever. the sun was out on the drive over (although it chucked it down - and still is - on the way home). 3,076 in the crowd (261 from wales) , loads of atmosphere, singing* and 3 points: what more could you ask? any of you bored with the top flight (or just too broke to go) check out your local non-league outfit.
the mighty U's are now second in the table on equal points as the leaders Mansfield and despite a dressing room's worth of injuries they look in good form. only going to watch half the england game as i'm out for a curry with the travelers but let's hope andorra have enough in the tank to beat terry's mercenaries before half time! (only kidding..)
*including the inevitable "sheepshaggers!" and the slightly more self-aware "you shag more sheep than us!"
