why is it that when you haul yourself all the way into work and boot up your computer that you find that the network that stores all your files (make sure you store them here they are MUCH safer they tell you..) has disappeared..no trace.. n'existe plus.. so i might have well have stayed here and used the 3/4 of the files that i have on my various memory sticks. problem is that i need the remaining 25% sometim soon and our IT department is about as much use as the proberbial chocolate teapot. ho hum. will struggle to write a lecture on violence (not that aimed at IT folk but its tempting...) then give in and go to the sales - better than trying to go tomorrow morning

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr i just wish that for once everything IT related in our institution would work when i need it to.. is that too much to ask?
