riding home from campus i heard what i thought was a cat stuck in a tree. i stopped and checked and realised it was a squirrel. It was calling in a sort of distressed sounding squeaky voice (not the best description!). I didn't know that squirrels had calls at all. apparently a woodpecker has been seen flying along the bradlaugh fields path.. cycling is more fun than driving and i hope i can keep it up
hopefully organised the third years so i can supervise 8 rather than 4 dissertations this term. instead of one-to-one tutorials im going to arrange seminars so they can talk to each other as well as me.. one of them might be difficult but the others seem ok about it. second years today - nearly 30 of them when i was expecting 20, them seem ok but perhaps a bit quiet again. got the first year crim lot tomorrow - lets hope they are lively!
made contact with J yesterday, she was just tired out and nothing sinister at all. i really do have to stop worrying about stuff like that - i.e. what i think someone else might think about me or something i might have said done or thought... i think too much. im going out with m&s tonight, to try a different pub now the students are back and colonising the town centre
